FPP compounding team fully understand the physical and chemical interaction complexity during the compounding process, and our compounding service is more than combining cogredient into a formulation. With advanced compounding technology and deep technical knowledge, we always enable the best outcomes for the finished formulations. Equipped with high-performance twin-screw extruder and feeding systems which can feed any morphology cogredient, compounding rates from 10 lbs per hour up to 2500 lbs per hour and processing general plastics and high-temperature high performance plastics as well. Professional in screw design and process optimization to achieve maximum compounding rate to significantly lower down formulated compounds’ cost. Experienced in improving, modifying and adjusting compound performance by choosing base plastic resins, additives, and functional modifiers and novel compounding process.
In the U.S., most plastic compounding lines utilize single screw extruders due to cost considerations. However, twin-screw extruders provide better material transport, mixing, and homogenization, especially in intermeshing configurations, offer faster extrusion speeds, lower energy consumption, and better self-cleaning, and are suitable for producing complex products, composite materials, recycled materials, and those with multiple compositions. Twin-screw extruders also provide precise control over material composition and can be tailored to various materials and processing needs, especially ideal for specialized processes like powder processing, mixing additives, and creating complex formulations. FPP’s twin screw extruder compounding lines can efficiently homogenizes up to six ingredients with side stuffing and vacuum pump, allowing heat-sensitive materials to incorporate additives as specified by customers, achieving unique properties that single screw extrusion lines cannot provide due to their inability to modify formulations. FPP’s compounding lines are equipped with comprehensive range of feeders and feeder screws to handle various additives, including pellets, powder, fiber, granules, flakes, and cohesive materials, operating at rates from 0.1 lbs/hr to 1,000 lbs/hr, meeting diverse formulation requirements. To support production compounding demands, FPP utilizes three desiccant dryers with drying capacity of 50lb/h, 300 lb/h, and 1500 lb/h, respectively to dry engineering resins such as PET, nylon, PC, and PEI before seamlessly conveying them to the twin screw extruder for processing.

Experienced in compounding a wide array of thermoplastic compounds such as polypropylene, polyethylene, PBT, PET, nylon, and polycarbonate, FPP has the ability to engineer materials specifically designed for your unique application along with all of your plastic compounding needs. FPP compounding team works directly with you on every level in order to create the custom compounds, from proposing tests to best understand the unique compound properties your application need to optimizing the process during the qualification process, striving to reduce processing and specification limits whenever possible. Our custom-tailored operation provides cost-effective versatility. With the support from FPP R&D team, the compounding team even can work together with you to develop the ideal compounded reins from just an idea or concept. We are experienced in conducting research, formulation development and engineering analysis, production and quality control.
